MAG Aerospace Opens New Fort Walton Beach Technology Center

Fort Walton Beach, Fla. – January 11, 2019 – MAG Aerospace announced that it will officially dedicate a new facility at 2pm today at 634 Anchors Street in the Fort Walton Beach Commerce & Technology Park.   The ceremony will be attended by local, state and military partners and dignitaries.

The 25,000 SF Technology Integration and Support Center (TISC) is focused on the integration of Air Force Special Operations, Special Warfare systems.  More than 50 new high wage technology engineering positions will be created as a result of the announcement. New hires will be tasked with solving complex interconnection problems between multiple products associated to cabling, hardware, software, and operational procedures.

The TISC will also be known as the “Col. John T. Carney Center of Excellence” in honor of John T. Carney, whom lead the first combat controller team during Desert Storm I.  It will be the first technology facility to house multiple program office government representatives and multiple commercial product engineers with a single integrator to support rapid integration, fielding, and innovation.

“In the past, special warfare ground operators would receive equipment directly from a program office that may or may not operate with other program office products or commercial off the shelf equipment. This scenario often results in equipment support and employment issues,” stated Chad Vuyovich, Director of AFSOC Programs for MAG Aerospace.

The TISC facility is additionally tasked with the creation of multiple high bandwidth network transports. Eleven global entry points will allow for secure systems to connect, update and access critical information on the battlefield using supporting systems.  The global architecture is a fully functional multi-domain battlefield network that focus fully integrated air, ground, and maritime systems.
